Acne Treatment

There are several
natural remedies for treating acne.
There is no conclusive evidence that they work but they are worth
looking into.

Acne scars:
- Aloe vera juice. Proven to help all types of scars.
Usually applied to skin and sometimes as a drink
- Rosehip seed oil : High in essential fatty acids.
Usually used by adding a few drops to regular skin moisturizer
- Neem oil: High in fatty acids. Usually applied to skin
Acne:
The following is a list of common vegetables that are said to help as
part of your natural acne treatment regimen
- Carrots: Should be eaten raw as cooking strips it of
some of the nutrients. Carrots are a rich source of Carotenoids.
Carotenoids aid in skin repair when damaged.Drinking carrot juice daily
has been
reported to be highly beneficial in clearing acne
- Apple Cider Vinegar: Drinking apple cider vinegar
helps with reducing acne. It has also been reported to be useful in
sinus infections, thrush, gout, arthritis and allergies. It also helps
clear the complexion. The draw back is it's unpleasant taste. Taken
mixed with water or a fruit juice
- Coconut oil: This is usually rubbed into skin. It
does not specifically cure acne but it improves the general health of
the skin. Limit the amount you use as it can cause palpitations [a
racing heart]
- Broccoli: This is also rich in beta carotene which
help maintain skin health and aids repair
- Cucumber: Cucumbers are rich in silicon. Silicon is
important in keeping the skin healthy. Also acne is about 90% water.
Cucumber is used in the management of acne in two ways.
Eating cucumber in salads
or
juices
Used as a facial. Grate or mush a cucumber and apply to the face for
about 15 minutes then wash off with fresh water
- Watercress: This is rich in vitamin A, which is
important in maintaining skin health, and other vitamins and minerals.
